Robot Chicken is a pretty dang funny show. I particularly liked the Transformers parody, with Optimus Prime dying from prostate cancer and then at the end, as he flatlines, transforming into a robotic coffin. I thought that was clever.

What isn't nearly as clever as I was hoping, unfortunately, is James Lileks' new book Interior Desecrations: Hideous Homes From the Horrible '70s. Basically following on in the same style as the much funnier The Gallery of Regrettable Food, Lileks seems to be far more interested in saying "Man, the '70s sure sucked" in as many ways as possible, rather than, you know, actually being funny. (In fact, you know what? I dare say that James Lileks hasn't been funny since September 11th, when he put aside his sense of irony and devoted himself full-time to fellating the War on Terror.)

No special plans for me this weekend, aside from getting the apartment cleaned up for apis_mellifera's visit the week after next. Anyone want to chip in to help get me a housecleaning robot? You know, the kind that they said we'd all have by the year 2000? ...anyone?
