I totally forgot to mention that I saw Steamboy on Friday night. It's an interesting movie, and if I was feeling more intellectually ambitious, I'd put together some sort of article about Katsuhiro Otomo's anime and the portrayals of industry/technology in them. I love the art in Steamboy, and I think Otomo got the look of Victorian-era England pretty right. (Of course, since I have a fondness for Victorian-looking things, I'll freely cop to being biased.) The flying Steam Tower at the end, that was pretty well awesome.
Out of the Otomo movies I've seen, I think I like this one better than Akira, but I don't think it was quite as good as Metropolis. Still, it's worth watching at least once.
In other news, the sky looks like it might storm here later. I hope it does.
