It Lives!!!

So, I haven't updated in a while. Mostly because I was getting run ragged at work (like, to the point where I had to work overtime most days) and was simply too exhausted and blank-minded to write anything.

We had a good Christmas here. I got a new overcoat, new scarf, new gloves, and a couple new shirts, plus apis_mellifera got me The Prestige (the novel upon which the movie is based) and the 3rd DVD collection of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. (For those of you wondering, I got her the first DVD collection of Revolutionary Girl Utena and the North Side artbook from CLAMP, which she'd been wanting for years now.)

And so, it's New Year's Eve now.

1.) Where did you ring in 2006?
At home, playing Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture, watching Dick Clark.

2.) What was your status by Valentines Day?
Er, same as it had been; engaged.

3.) Were you in school (anytime this year)?

4.) How did you earn your keep?
Temping at UPS, making reports and being everyone else's rent boy.

5.) Did you have to go to the hospital?
No, thankfully.

6.) Did you encounter the police?
Only on the phone, when I called 911 after I saw a tractor-trailer go over on its side this summer.

7.) Where did you go on vacation?
Vacation? What is this "Vacation" you speak of?

8.) What did you purchase that was over $500?
My new computer, which is so very very very shiny. (Yay!)
The new radiator in my car, which I had to after the old one cracked. (Boo!)

9.) Did you know anybody who got married?
Me! (happydance) (erin_c_1978, please email me -- I don't have your address!)

10.) Do you know anybody who passed away?
No, only people my friends knew. And for them, I extend my condolences again.

11.) Have you run into anybody you graduated high school with?
Roy and Liz, who came to the wedding.

12.) Did you move anywhere?
No, but I'll be moving in a couple weeks.

13.) What sporting events did you go to?
Ha! No.

14.) What concerts did you go to?

15.) Are you registered to vote?
Now I am. (I thought I had registered when I got my driver's license right after I moved here. Turned out that the incompetent boobs at the DMV hadn't fully processed it, so I wasn't on the rolls -- which I didn't find out until after I showed up at the polling place on Nov. 7th. So I had to get a frigging COURT ORDER, yo, to go vote.)

16.) If so, did you do your patriotic duty on Nov. 7?
I did indeed.

17.) Where do you live now?
New Castle, Delaware -- same as I was living a year ago.

18.) Describe your birthday.
My birthday itself, being on a Monday, was a day like any other. All the special fun happened the weekend before. And it was a blast.

19.) What's the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2006?
Cut my hair.

20.) What is one thing you regretted this year?
Cutting my hair Losing friends. Running out of money over the summer.

21.) What's something you learned about yourself?
I need to stop sucking at money management, and at vehicle maintenance.

22.) Any new additions to your family?

23.) What was your best month?
Parts of all of them were excellent.

24.) What from pop culture will you remember 2006 by?
"I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!!"
"Crazy," by Gnarls Barkley

25.) How would you rate this year with a scale from 1 (shitty) to 10 (excellent)?
It had its ups and downs, but overall I'd give it 6 1/2.
