I don't know what's wrong with it, but it won't start up normally; instead of starting Windows, it goes right to DOS mode. (It'll do safe mode, but safe mode is teh suck.) If you type "exit," all it does is reboot...and put you right back into DOS mode again. Same if you power off, or hit control-alt-delete.
I only got this far by doing a step-by-step confirmation of the bootup process, and saying no to the COMMAND.COM bit and the WIN.COM bit.
Of course, now my screen is at the big!huge!childish!resolution, just like it is under safe mode. Sigh.
I've asked two people about it so far, and they're stumped. I might have to suck it up and call tech support tomorrow. Or put in the system CD and erase everything on the hard drive. Sigh.
